Hey, I’m Alexis. Although I’m highly passionate about journalism and have devoted much of my last four years to this class, and am even considering a career in journalism, I still maintain my dedication to animals. I ride horses as a way to relieve stress and clear my mind when journalism deadlines are not met. I volunteer at an animal shelter to walk animals cooped up in cages, giving them a few minutes of fresh air and myself a few hours to run around with adorable puppies. My career is not yet set in stone, so maybe you’ll find me in a vet’s office one day surrounded by fluffy animals.
Hey. I’m Althea and I enjoy short walks through the desert–my other hobbies include using a magic black box to capture random moments in my life with pictures. I love writing and stringing words together to make separate thoughts into something beautiful and coherent, but the path I’m following into the future is still up for debate. I also like to think of myself as a sloth since I spend most of my time eating, sleeping, and falling off of trees because I grab my arm thinking it’s a branch (seriously, that’s a thing, look it up.)
Hi, my name is Julia Cox and I am currently a junior in the Nursing program. Most of my time is spent freaking out about journalism deadlines and trying to get my homework done before going to soccer. However on the rare chance I actually have time to relax, I love listening to music and spending time with my family. I am very competitive and I put 100% into everything I do. I plan on becoming a great news writer by the end of the year and enjoying life along the way.
Hello, I’m Cassie, a junior in the Dental program and a proud supporter of oral hygiene. Sometimes I refer to myself as a typo. Other times I’m a blank page with some scribbles on it. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but I hope you know what I mean. In reality, I’m just some kid that likes tucking in her shirt and laughing until she gags. I’m a full-time member of a meme team and an active contributor to an ongoing queue of cartoons I have yet to watch. While even my own syntax confuses me sometimes, writing will always be my favorite art form.
Junior year. Three years of high school, three years of all-nighters, and three years of my up and down relationship with Journalism. I am Vinh Tran and I am in the Dental program. Where do I start? I like wearing t-shirts of bands I don’t listen to, I like the new Kanye West, I like spending gratuitous amounts of money on clothes and I hate the feeling of sand. I however apologize if you don’t see enough of my articles, deadlines are hard.
Hello, I’m Angelique and I’m a junior in the Dental program. I’m a person who tries to live life with each day that comes, but at the end of the day I still anticipate the future and what it may bring. In my free time, which I don’t get much of, I like sleeping and watching Netflix. Although that may seem pretty generic, I take joy in simpler things though I still aspire to travel and make something out of my name. If you’re close to me, you’ll definitely hear me raving on about the newest makeup trend or the new silly socks my mom bought me. I get most excited during the holidays and when it’s cold outside, I cry happy tears every time I go to Disneyland, and I love animals so much that I’ll still cuddle with them despite my extremely annoying allergies. But if you asked me to describe my personality I couldn’t really do so in one single paragraph, it’s about as jumbled up as a word search. You have to take the time to find what you’re looking for.
Jackie Romo is my name. Nursing is my aim while taking Journalism has been an interesting game. I’m a full time student aiming high and a full time youth group leader helping others reach their prime. My ideal Friday night includes binge watching Netflix while accompanied by Ben & Jerry (my best friends.) I love big books and I cannot lie, my lame pickup lines are super fly. My faith and love for writing will always be a part of me, myself, and I, as it helps me be grateful for this life.
Hi I’m Adriana and I am second year journalism student and I hope to grow in this class.During my free time I play softball and the positions I play are anywhere in the outfield and first base. My goal is to graduate from the University of Oregon and become an orthodontist. My dream job is becoming an orthodontist unlike other jobs I will not be stuck in a cubicle and hopefully my work will give my patients more confidence.
Hello, I’m Maggie! You can typically find me at the softball field if I am not at school. I am a second baseman and slap hitter. I have been playing since I was eight and it’s definitely a passion of mine. I am also a second year journalism student. This is my first year as a newspaper writer. My dream job is to be an orthodontist because I want to make people smile! I love traveling and my favorite place I have been so far has been Oregon. Oh, and sunflowers are my favorite. They remind me there is still natural beauty to be found in the world.
Hi! My name is James Martin and I am a 10th-grader here at SWCTA. I was born on November 27, 2000 in Lathrop, California. I then moved to Stockton, California at the age of two. Then, at the age of 12, my family made the move to come to Las Vegas, Nevada where I enjoy playing baseball, playing with my PS4, and messing around with anything that has a engine.
