Students in Mr. Gordon Thomas’ Spanish class are currently working on a project that describes various body parts in Spanish using monsters that the students create.
Presenting to the teacher, freshman Dane Jenkins introduces his monster in Spanish. During practice he was uncertain of some words, but the actual presentation was different. "The presentation went pretty well," Jenkins said. "I was able to pronounce all of the terms right."
While standing in line to present, freshman Bryan Sison does a final practice run with his peer. Sison paid specific attention to the pronunciation of certain words. "I am making sure that I am pronouncing the Spanish word for the right hand," Sison said.
Before he presents, freshman Matthew Minaian practices with his peers. For the project, students had to create a monster, label it in Spanish and then present their monsters to Mr. Thomas. "The reason why I chose a gumball is because I enjoy eating them instead of regular stick gum," Minaian said.
Memorizing the final descriptions of her project, sophomore Maggie Macandog tries to remember the last Spanish term. Macandog only had a few more moments until she had to present. "I am having trouble memorizing the term used to describe the monster that I created," Macandog said.
Adding the finishing touches to his project, sophomore Daunte Wade glues his monster's description to his project. The descriptions were meant to show the various body parts of each student's monster. "I do not feel very nervous about this project," Wade said. "After all, we just have to present in front of the teacher."
