Student Council (StuCo) is hosting the first annual Coyote Coachella from 2-4 p.m. on the field on April 8. Tickets are being sold for $10 in the cafeteria during both lunches starting tomorrow until the day of the event.

“I am extremely excited for Coyote Coachella; not only is it new to Southwest, but it is embracing those who are artistic at our school,” senior Brittney Grossi said.

Students who pay for the $10 tickets will receive a punch card. The cost will cover the after school activities held on that week. Monday will be Tie Dye Day, Wednesday is Headwear/Flower Crown Day, and Friday will be Professional Face Paint Day. Ticket buyers will also receive bubbles and a water bottle on the day of the event.

“We are hosting a Coyote Coachella because we wanted to do something for the school and have more school spirit,” Lexi Deliponti said.

General admission tickets will also be sold for $5 at the door, but will not include the after school activities.

“I’ve heard about Coachella before and I’ve always wanted to go,” senior Neil Montemayor said. “I can’t go to the real one yet, so Coyote Coachella will be really exciting.”

Auditions will be held tomorrow in the ballroom starting at 2 pm. Students will be auditioning in front of a panel of judges. StuCo is searching for singers, dancers and any other musical performers.

“I would love to audition for Coyote Coachella because I love singing and performing,” junior Sara Rounaque said.
