With the introduction of a Personal Leadership class, upperclassmen have been participating in different activities with freshmen. To help with the costs of future endeavors, Mrs. Miriya Julian’s class will be working with the clothing line LuLaRoe to hold a pop-up boutique on Friday, Nov. 4 from 5-7 p.m.
“The proceeds of the fundraiser are going to go towards the Personal Leadership class for costs that we have throughout the year,” Personal Leadership student Grace Lange said.
The fundraiser will be in the Coyote Ballroom and LuLaRoe will be providing a variety of items such as skirts, dresses and tops.
“There will be clothing for males, females and children at the pop up shop,” Personal Leadership student Alyssa Colligas said. “LuLaRoe has something for just about everyone.”
Julian’s first experience with the company was when she hosted a pop-up boutique in her home for a friend who happened to be a consultant for LuLaRoe.
“The cool thing about it is that there’s no sales pitch,” Julian said. “You can try on the clothes and, if you like it, then you can take it home that day.”
A previous pop up shop which raised almost $800 was held by the Fashion Design program with items from a bridal and tuxedo shop and American Apparel. Depending on the event turnout, Personal Leadership may organize similar fundraisers in the future.
“If this turns out to be a success, then we will definitely be having more–most likely with the same brand,” Personal Leadership member Betsabe Guerrero said.
