The Jostens senior class meeting took place in the cafeteria during third period on Nov. 4 to discuss ordering information for graduation caps and gowns. The ceremony will take place on June 9 at 12 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
“Graduation is going to be very bittersweet. I get very excited but sad when I think or talk about graduation because these past years at Southwest have gone by so fast and graduation is coming very soon,” senior Kiana Tangonan said.
To order a cap and gown, students must include their height and weight when they order their materials. The payment, which is a total of $48.65 with tax, must be made by Dec. 19 online.
“The cap and gown packages look nice, but I think I’m just going to save money and use my sister’s cap and gown from her graduation,” senior Angelica Mayor said.
The company will also be on campus in the lunchroom on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 to collect payments directly. Orders are non-refundable after winter break.
“Honestly, the thought of ordering caps and gowns is weird. When I think of graduation, I cant help but feel like a part of me is being left behind,” senior Desiree Galera said. “The memories I’ve created in high school have been so amazing and it’s crazy to think that the rest of my life is being thrown at me.”
Additionally, Jostens is hosting a giveaway for 12 students to receive a free cap and gown. To enter, seniors must text “LVGRADS” to 25827.
“Graduation feels so surreal. I cant seem to wrap my head around the fact that we are graduating and there wont be anymore next times, just last times,” senior Carlo Miciano said. “I need it to walk on that stage to get that advanced honors diploma that I have been slaving away to earn the past three years of high school.”
