Q: How long have you been playing the piano?
A: I’ve been playing the piano for about six years and counting.

Q: How did you learn how to master the piano? Was it extremely difficult?
A: No, playing the piano is pretty easy because I taught myself in the 4th grade.

Q: At your skill level, have you ever thought of trying to teach others how to play?
A: I’ve taught a few friends and family how to play, but they still complain that they can’t play as good as me. As of right now though, I don’t have the time to teach others how to play the piano like before.

Q: Do you consider this a talent or a hobby of yours?
A: Honestly, I believe this is a talent of mine because I worked extremely hard to learn how to play and I’m really skilled at playing the piano now and practice when I have the time.

Q: What did you do to achieve the state of your ability?
A: I did spend a lot of time and effort getting the muscle memory in my fingers and learning the different octaves. I worked extremely hard to be able to play like this.

Q: Playing the piano is extremely difficult; are there any things that learning how to play the piano has taught you?
A: Learning how to play the piano has taught me a lot of self-discipline and patience. Learning how to play the piano has also helped me with my coordination, multi-tasking ability, attention span, and has cultivated my mental skills.

Q: Is there a certain person that inspires you to play the piano? If so, why does that person inspire you so much?
A: My initial inspiration was Yiruma because his songs are very soothing; however my inspiration to keep on playing the piano now is Sherry Kim. Sherry Kim is a YouTube pianist and the way she plays is just really awesome and mesmerizing to watch.

Q: Do you have a certain song you enjoy playing? Why?
A: I’d have to say ‘Kiss the Rain’ by Yiruma because the tones and the key it’s in sounds really nice, especially when the notes echo around the room.

Q: Does playing the piano enable your creative side to come out?
A: Yes, I play the piano because I can just create my own music and songs without people interfering.

Q: How do you feel mentally and emotionally when playing the piano?
A: When I play the piano it’s almost like every inch of my body is ready to burst with joy, triumph, and satisfaction.
