With all the new pop music out today, originality is hard to find. However, Bruno Mars nails it with his new album, Unorthodox Jukebox. His songs are upbeat and enjoyable with most of his lyrics mostly focusing on the love he feels for women. Mars manages to infuse his spunky lyrics with an vigorous melody, creating catchy rhythms easy to remember and hard to forget. The first track on the album, “Locked out of Heaven” talks about the intense love he feels and how it can transform any setting into paradise. Later on in the album, Bruno is conflicted with the song “Natalie.” He refers to Natalie as the girl who stole his heart, as well as his wallet. Considering most of the album is about a girl, you can tell that despite Natalie’s pickpocket habits, Bruno is stuck on her, like most of the subjects of this album.
