“I was very excited, especially knowing that my friends all voted for me, and I was in shock when they called my name,” Homecoming Queen Sharyn Landskroner said. “I really didn’t think I’d win.”

Held in the high end car dealership Celebrity Cars Las Vegas, the dance’s theme prompted students to dress in James Bond-like fashion. Whether they wore bright red dresses or sleek black, students either chose to match the theme or wear their own style.

“I choose what to wear for a dance by looking for a dress that I feel beautiful in,” junior Mary Intal said. “I try not to narrow the options by trying to match my outfit to the theme.”

The unconventional setup of a car showroom also allowed attendees to observe restored cars, exotic brands and even motorcycles. Taking pictures alongside the cars, as well as at the photo booth, was a popular pastime of the night.

“The venue had a good atmosphere,” senior Patrick Dizon said. “The theme for this year’s homecoming was my favorite because James Bond movies are very classy and action packed.”

Past Homecoming dance venues include the University of Nevada Las Vegas Richard Tam Alumni Center and the Panos Hall Courtyard.

This was my first dance ever, and I was honestly amazed at how great Student Council did with the dance because the theme was so unique,” Lynn Vales said. “I am definitely looking forward to future dances.”
