Let this be the last time that a mass shooting terrorizes our home.
Let this be the last time that our country is known for having the most mass shootings in the world. We need to end the culture of protecting our personal firearms and focus on prolonging everyone’s right to life, liberty and happiness. When will it be the last time we argue and the first time we take action?
Let this be the last time that anybody can legally own an excessive amount of firearms. Nevada law allows citizens to possess an automatic firearm with no need for a permit for shotguns and rifles. The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms, not the right to murder innocent civilians. Guns are not trading cards; you don’t need to collect them all.
Let this be the last time an event like this handicaps our ability to live without feeling threatened while living our daily lives. We deserve the right to hangout at malls, concerts or any crowded areas without the fear of not coming home alive. Our parents deserve the right to never hear the phrase, “I’m sorry and regret to inform you that your child has passed away.”
Let this be the last time that communities unite during times of tragedy rather than times of joy.
