Class of 2017 schedules school night fundraiser with Cafe Zupas Percentage of proceeds will fund prom, activities

To raise funds for prom and benefit their class in the upcoming year, the Class of 2017 members in Student Council scheduled a school night fundraiser with Cafe Zupas on April 5.

“It’s another fundraiser that we were willing to do because we had heard about the fundraisers they offer,” Class of 2017 Student Council member Kevin Peace said. “We thought it was a good idea and that maybe the Class of 2017 could do it. We also wanted a little hangout that the whole school could come to that would also benefit the Class of 2017, especially since prom is coming up.”

In collaboration with Cafe Zupas, Student Council will receive 20 percent of the profits based off the sales received from customers that attend the school.

“Cafe Zupas has been one of my favorite restaurants recently, so it’s great that I’ll be helping prom and my class,” junior Carl Montemayor said.

The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. To ensure Student Council receives a portion of the proceeds, students and teachers will need to say they are from SWCTA.

“I think it’s going to be a great event where I can hang out with all my friends and provide for the class, as well,” Peace said.

Under the theme “A Royal Night,” prom will be hosted at Emerald at Queensridge on May 14.

“During my last year of high school, prom will be a memorable experience for me,” senior Earl Buenaflor said. “I’ll get to spend time with my friends and share one of my last moments of high school with my peers.”
