Class of 2017 coordinates Candy Grams fundraiser Approximately 40 sold

To support the 2016 prom dance, the Class of 2017 has begun selling Candy Grams as a fundraising effort. Sales will continue through Tuesday, Dec. 15.

“We’re going to stop selling in the cafeteria after Friday, but students will be able to buy on Monday and Tuesday in the library,” Class of 2016 adviser Veronica Whiton said. “We’re going to hand them out during 8th period on Wednesday.”

The Candy Grams are attached with small greeting cards that include space for additional personal notes.

“Kids send them to their friends or their teachers. They’re a gram with a candy cane that students are sending around with little notes attached,” Whiton said. “It’s just another thing to help raise money for prom.”

They can be purchased individually for 50 cents a piece. A bouquet of five may also be purchased for $2.

“I hope to write some thoughtful notes for all of my friends,” senior Jonas Tambora said. “I know it’s nice to receive reminders from those you care about that you’re thinking of them during the holidays, so I think it’s a nice gesture.”
