Future Business Leaders of America members are preparing for the second round of the annual FBLA online competitive events that will be taking place at the upcoming club meeting on Jan. 15. Members will be competing in events that focus on topics such as accounting, business, law, and personal finance.
“These online events are really challenging and unexpectedly hard, but I think after doing the pretests, I can handle it,” freshman Nicole Overman said.
In each round, members can take tests on up to eight events, with each test limited to one hour each.
“With what I’ve seen for the past weeks, many of the members have been studying and are ready for the test. Hopefully, they are ready enough so that one of them could place and win a medal,” FBLA Adviser Ms. Krista Boivie said.
In each category, three winners (some events only two) will be chosen with the highest score, and will be presented with a plaque for that particular event. Fourth place to tenth place winners obtain a pin of recognition, while first through third are eligible to move to the national level.
“This is definitely a great opportunity for those who are looking to challenge themselves in a more rigorous course with a variety of topics to compete in,” Flora Shi, president, said.
