Financial Aid Night to be hosted for seniors and parents

To educate and aid seniors about college tuition,  Financial Aid Night will be held on Dec. 10 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Coyote Ballroom.

“Students are going to be able to get their questions answered and we’re going to talk about the different myths out there about the FAFSA,” Counselor Elena Clavel said

The UNLV Financial Aid representative will be discussing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, different types of financial aid, the FSA ID, PEF scholarships and the Millennium Scholarship.

“Applying for scholarships can be really challenging, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing,” senior Cecilia Romero said. “I’m thankful that we have Financial Aid Night because it will help my parents and I fill out the FAFSA.”

All seniors and their parents are invited to come to this event.

“It is important to be educated about financial aid because it lowers the cost of their college education and eliminates the burden of student loans,” senior Iram Carranza said.
