Today’s Spirit Day theme was Tacky Tourist Day, and students and teachers were decked out in khakis, flowery button ups, fanny packs, sunscreen, and tacky tourist accessories, such as explorer maps, binoculars, and even cameras.

“It was fun to see how creative people got and how colorful their shirts were. I’m excited to see what people wear tomorrow,” senior Reynson Bali said.

Student Council hosted the second of this week’s lunchtime competitions “pantyhose” game in which two students were challenged to knock over a dozen water bottles whilst blindfolded by pantyhose. The student who knocks over all water bottles the quickest is the winner.

First lunch winners:

Freshman Carlos Hernandez
Freshman Edgar Garcia

Second lunch winners:

Senior Jean-Paul Torres
Senior Jon Beauford Langub
Senior Chachris Ruangsri

“It was a lot more difficult to knock down than I thought it would be,” Langub said.

Tomorrow’s spirit day is Dapper Day, which means students and teachers can show up to school sporting 20s apparel such as bowties, vests, suspenders, and flapper dresses.

“I’m really proud of my commission and I’m super excited to see how people dress up for dapper day tomorrow,” Service Committee Chair member Carlos Pena said.
