Journalism students will gift wrap to raise conference funds

SWCTA’s Journalism II students will wrap presents in Boca Park’s REI to raise money for their upcoming Seattle trip this Saturday.

On Dec. 10, Journalism II students will be gift wrapping items for the Las Vegas community near the Boca Park center, inside the REI sports store.

“I’m excited to do this fundraiser because it’s sort of original. Not many organizations do it and it’s going to be so much fun wrapping while bonding with my journalism family,” comments Marina Triplett, junior.

Students will be accepting donations for each wrapped gift. Each donation will assist in paying for a journalism conference in Seattle, Washington, in April.

“I’m excited to mix things up and try to make money for our Seattle trip in a new and creative way. No other SWCTA organization has done this in the past, so I feel that this will help bring the spirit of the holidays alive,” comments sophomore Angelina Marcee.

Come and support the Journalism II students, who will be at the REI on Rampart Blvd. from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information, see Southwest Shadow Adviser Mr. Matthew LaPorte in Room C122 or any Journalism II member.
