On Wednesday, May 23, Southwest Career and Technical Academy’s National Honor Society (NHS) will be hosting their second annual end-of-the-year social in the cafeteria at 2:00 p.m.
“We will be celebrating the end of the year by having this social as our last NHS meeting,” sophomore Sebastian Atienza, vice president, said.
NHS will provide veggie and regular burgers as part of the BBQ social and the members will bring food according to the category they were assigned.
“Seniors with last names A to L need to bring self-contained drinks, and seniors with last names M to Z need to bring chips and dip. Juniors A to L are required to bring salads of any kind, and juniors M to Z must bring fruit. Lastly, sophomores A to L need to bring baked desserts, while sophomores M to Z need to bring cold desserts,” senior Janilie Dysico, former historian, said.
All members are invited to attend the last meeting of the year. NHS adviser Mrs. Miriya Julian will also be handing out awards to officers and a member on this day. The member award recognizes a member who contributed the most in helping the society, and the officers will receive gifts as an appreciation for their efforts and dedication.
