As the end of the school year approaches, many upperclassmen are looking forward to prom. May 12, 2012, is sure to be a magical night for both the junior and senior class. Prom will be held at the Renaissance Hotel near the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“It is an upscale location not far from the school that is easy to get to. It has on site self parking and can accommodate limousines. There will also be different activities to do in addition to the dancing. It is truly an amazing space,” Class of 2013 Adviser, Mr. Kurt Bargy said.
The theme, as decided by the students who attended the class of 2014’s meeting following Coyote Congress, for SWCTA’s first prom is “A Night in Paris.”
“I can’t wait to dress shop with my girlfriends, get corsages and boutonnieres, and take a million pictures,” senior Caroline Saquido said.
The dance will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. and snacks and refreshments will be served. Tickets for the dance are currently on sale and can be purchased for $50. The price will increase to $60 the week of the dance and $70 at the door.
“I’m hopeful that it will be worth every penny,” senior Charlene Hinton said.
