Six Flags Magic Mountain to host senior Grad Night
SWCTA’s first graduation night will be held in May. Seniors can look forward to a night of unforgettable memories at one of the world’s best amusement park in California.
“I’m so excited to spend one of the final moments with the class of 2012. It’s a great way to end my senior year,” says Maryam Omidiji.
This year Southwest Career and Technical Academy’s graduation night will be held at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The cost for this trip is $69, and will include dinner, a two hour earlier entrance to the park, a DJ that will host a dance party, and access to rides before the crowd that did not pay for these additional extras.
“I feel like it’s an honor to be the first class to graduate, and I am excited to hang out with all my friends at Six Flags,” comments Meghan Wolslegel.
The Six Flags trip will be limited to only 8,000 students. The usual attendance for students who attend Fall Rally usually ranges from 20,000-30,000 students.
“I’m personally ecstatic to be spending my graduation night screaming my head off out of joy instead of frustration with overwhelming stress!” exclaims Judy Jauregui.
Departure for this event will be at 4 pm on May 17, with an arrival at the park at 9:15 pm. Dinner and the dance party will be held from 9:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. with the park opened to seniors from 11:30 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. Seniors will then leave the park at 5:30 am, and will be back to SWCTA at 11:00 am on May 18.
“I think that seniors should attend Grad Night because it is one of the last chances they will have to go on trip with their classmates. Las Vegas students are so lucky to be able to go to theme parks for Grad Night, since my Grad Night was held at the NM State Fair Grounds,” states Student Council Adviser Mrs. Miryia Julian.
If seniors have any questions or comments regarding graduation night, see Julian in the D building before or after school.
