COVID-19 Update for 3/23 bY: GRINESA BAJRAMI

While many people remain quarantined and continue practicing social distancing, some wonder what is currently going on in the world and outside of their home. Most of the world is following social distancing in different ways and are limiting the spread of virus.

#1 The Current Count

Around the world, the number of cases slowly increases. Currently, there are 379,080 reported cases of COVID-19 worldwide, with 16,524 of those cases resulting in deaths. In the United States, there have been 33,404 with 400 deaths, according to the CDC. In Nevada there have been 245 cases with only four deaths.

#2 In the United States

Although many states are currently on lock down, Donald Trump and his administration are currently preparing new protocols based off new data that has risen. The Trump Administration predicts the nation will return to a business country in the coming years.

#3 In Nevada

Due to numerous people being admitted to hospitals, there has been a shortage of testing kits. The state has not been given enough resources from the government.

#4 In Other News

As of March 20, clear water is now flowing through Venice. The pollution levels have gone down. Due to social distancing and less tourism, motorboats have not been used, impacting the waters clarity.

#5 If you're bored

A good way to spend time at home is through the social media, TikTok. While everyone is following social distancing, many new trends have emerged. The trends vary daily, such as POVs, dances, cosplays or food videos, there is a trend for everyone.
