Middle school students invited to annual recruitment open house Students have the opportunity to tour campus

The recruitment open house is scheduled for Jan. 21 on campus from 6 – 7:30 p.m. All interested middle school students and their parents are welcome to attend the event.

“I’m extremely excited to meet the incoming freshmen,” senior Student Council member Michael Medeiros said. “I can’t wait to show them around campus and answer any questions they might have about becoming a Coyote.”

Participants will be able to attend student operated tours around the campus. There will be computer labs available for students to apply and information sessions regarding public transportation and other topics.

“We’ve done this for seven years and we’ve had a great turnout,” Student Council adviser Mrs. Miriya Julian said. “I hope it encourages the eighth graders to apply since it will be available to them on the spot.”

Additionally, all participants must park in the student parking lot. The entrance doors between the “B” and “C” building will be unlocked for individuals to enter through.

“I remember going to the open house as an eighth grader and being really excited to come to Southwest,” senior Kenneth Wong said. “I hope the eighth graders will feel the same way that I did.”
