It was second grade and the month of February had just begun. Everyone was happy and buzzing as little kids do. We were asking each other if we had valentines, and of course, no one did since we were in second grade. Everyone was so excited talking about how they were going to decorate their valentines boxes and what their valentines cards were going to look like. For a second-grade girl in my time, I was pretty known. Lots of people knew me even the teachers. (I had a very big personality when I was younger). They all knew that this little boy had a big crush on me. I wasn’t so fond of this boy and didn’t like him back but he was determined to win me over. Everyone would tell me about the things that he said he was going to do but I didn’t believe them. It was February 9th the Monday before valentines day. Valentine’s day was on that week’s Saturday. Everyone was talking about valentines and the doors of all the classrooms were getting decorated. On the second day, the inside of the rooms were decorated. It was Wednesday and I had heard people the days before saying that he was going to give me flowers. Sure enough in morning recess he came up to me with flowers in his hand and held them out. He didn’t say a word but just handed them to me. Then the next day in morning recess he came up to me with a box of chocolates. Those little small ones you can get at the dollar tree. This time he said “This is for you” with a smile on his face and then ran away. It was Friday the day before valentines day but he did not give me anything that morning. I thought it was over but then at lunch, he went up to the principal and asked if he could sing something on stage. The principal said yes and the little boy walked up onto the stage. He said into the microphone “I want to dedicate this song to a girl I like” and then started singing “When I was your man” by Bruno mars. The whole lunch room turned to me and either pointed at me or said my name. My face was red and I curled up into a ball hiding my head as he sang the song. I never became his valentine but he was really sweet and nice about it and I did thank him for the things he gave me. That was my valentines story :)) hope you enjoyed it!

This valentines day, my boyfriend got me a necklace with a blue butterfly on it. This is significant and special to me because my grandpa loved blue butterflies. He, unfortunately, passed about a year ago. When he was in the hospital and they knew he was going to pass, they put a blue butterfly sticker on the door of his room so he wasn’t disturbed. Now, my whole family uses blue butterflies to remember him. I am super grateful that I got this present because it helps me remember him.

I had this crush in 7th grade and it took me a while to build up the courage to be my valentine. She ended up saying yes and I couldn’t wait for valentines day to happen. On the day of valentine’s, she was absent :/

For Homecoming, my friend asked me to help him surprise his girlfriend with a homecoming proposal. Me being someone who loves to plan things of course said yes. It took a good 2 weeks to finish everything and make it perfect for the big day. On the day of the proposal, I was meant to be the person who distracted his girlfriend while he got everything ready. I asked her if she wanted to go to get lunch with me and when we came back, he proposed in front of the entire cafeteria. Everyone was cheering and filming. It was honestly really sweet and for me one of the more memorable parts of high school so far (:

There was this one time in elementary school where I really had a crush on this boy in my class. I would try basically almost everything to let this boy know I liked him! Although I’m not sure if it ever got through to him. Well there was this one day I was playing tag during recess with my classmates. It must’ve rained earlier since the grass was much slippery than other days. So I was chasing my crush during tag and I completely slipped and fell into the splits in front of my crush and his friends and my friends! Oh, I was so embarrassed that I fell in front of him! My pants were wet but I was laughing with them since it was very funny, I still laugh about it till this day.

In elementary school I liked this one guy, but I didn’t think he liked me back so I never told him. Nobody knew I liked him and for Valentine’s Day I got him a box of chocolates and hid it in his backpack. Nobody knew it was me that gave it to him. During recess I was playing with my friends and then they told me to turn around and when I did, the guy I liked was behind me with a box of chocolates and flowers. Everyone was screaming and it was so sweet.

I once brought a lot of chocolate heart boxes for all my friends in elementary school. I stuck them in all their bags. However, I accidentally mistook the class bully’s bag, for my friend’s bag. I luckily had my own chocolate box, so I just ended up giving that to my friend so they wouldn’t be left out.
That chocolate box was one of the few boxes that kid got, and it seemed to make him really happy that someone cared. On one hand, I feel happy I could make his day, but on the other hand, it’s embarrassing to think I didn’t purposely put the chocolate box in there. I’m a little guilty if anything.

One time in elementary school I had made goodie bags to take for my class. I left them all in a bag sitting on the couch. The next morning I came down and wrappers were everywhereee. My dog had eaten the chocolate, yet still managed to live to be 19 -true story
