GSA, H207, every other Wednesday
Handling administrative work, President Maya Pantic plans to involve general members in creating pronoun pins.
“We are discussing fundraising ideas and design ideas for pins that we would like to provide to all the members,” Pantic said. “This will either be identity-related or could be a general design for identification of being part of the GSA club.”
After informing members of club meeting date changes due to the break schedule, they will be hosting an activity.
“After going through the usual information blurbs we give every meeting, we’ll be playing an activity to get everyone more comfortable with one another and to promote a more tight-knit community,” Pantic said.
Jam Club, F104, every Wednesday
Learning new songs, Jam Club president Eyobel Tecle gets ready to practice with their general members on their instruments.
“We have a drum kit, a couple guitarists, a saxophone player, and a couple of bassists,” Tecle said. “Hopefully people will practice at home and then we can start playing.”
Within a span of four weeks, Jam members will pick the songs they will play, decide what parts, what instruments will play, and rehearse their final product.
“I put song suggestions on a spreadsheet and then when the next meeting rolls around the members get to pick what songs they want to play,” Tecle said. “We picked ‘505’ by Arctic Monkeys and ‘Portuguese Knife Fight’ by Cage The Elephant.
Video Game Club, C100, every Thursday
Video Game Club members are currently exploring older video games and playing board games at their general meetings.
“We play more retro games, for instance, we’re actually playing on a Sega Genesis mini from the early 90s,” adviser Max Brewer said.
Video Game Club is a less competitive version of Esports club. They are currently progressing through “Ghouls ‘n Ghosts.”
“We plan on hopefully beating the game ‘Ghouls ‘n Ghosts,’” Brewer said. “It is notoriously one of the most difficult games ever made. But as a club, we are going to get through it.”
