Beginning her artistic journey at the tender age of four, passionate young artist freshman Isabella Costa channels her love for design into a possible career: fashion. Inspired by her love for anime, she initially focused on drawing characters, albeit with limited skill. Over time, her artistic interests expanded to include landscaping and fashion design.
“My favorite and most advanced [artistic skill] is fashion design,” Costa said. “My favorite clothing to design is street clothes. I have not made any yet but plan to.”
This ambition reflects her desire to merge creativity with personal expression through her artwork. Additionally, her appreciation for nature led her to paint landscapes, which she finds relaxing and inspiring.
“I always loved landscaping, it is a great form of art,” Costa said. “I always loved nature, and it always kept me calm.”
One of her best ideas about art is to use it as a business. She believes that participating in events to sell art can be both fulfilling and profitable.
“I think art is the best business because you can go and sell art at different events,” Costa said.
Her growth as an artist is evident through her practice with various mediums, including watercolors and pencils. She combines the technicality with her joy of
“My favorite utensil to use is a pencil. You can never go wrong with it,” Costa said.
Costa takes great joy in sharing her artwork with others. This enthusiasm underscores the emotional connection she has with her creations and the validation she receives from others.
“I love showing my art! Especially when people compliment my art. It gives me such joy,” Costa said. “[Art has] helped me become more creative, and it is very much an outlet for me,” Costa said.
Looking ahead, Costa plans to further develop her skills in her art and hopes to create original masterpieces. Her dedication to honing her craft indicates a promising future in the arts.
