I love music and it very well is something that is essential in my life,” Ervien Panem (‘25) said. “Every time I listen to music, I always start singing, but when I start singing I sound like a dying horse. So I’d like to be able to one day be able to sing one of my favorite songs and actually sound listenable.”

“First, I address everything I need to do and what I’ve finished and after I do something I call an ‘anti-burnout,’” Alex Abram (‘27) said. “I either lay down to rest, play video games, or hangout with friends. It takes my mind off of reality and it helps me ignore schoolwork, and all the social interactions.”

“My favorite two bands are ‘Fall Out Boy’ and ‘Bring Me the Horizon,’” Benson Wood (‘28) said. “Fall Out is my favorite because they have a lot of punk and alternative music and they’ve been a big part of my life. Bring Me the Horizon has good punk and alternative, however the different varieties of metal and they’re the most involved band that I listen to.”

The cinematography is fantastic, as well as the color grading and the script. I could watch it for hours. The entire plot is fantastic, it’s about someone who just wants to be seen. Close second is 21 Jump Street.”

“My favorite place in the world would be Turks and Caicos. It’s a great place to go. The water’s beautiful, the food’s nice,” Nicolas Forrester (‘25) said. “You get to see a lot of different things you don’t see in your home city. It was just a beautiful place to go. The last time I went was probably October or November of 2023 and I’m going again for sure when I graduate.”

“I’m really excited to try and get tickets for a Beabadoobee concert. I got a pre-sale code, and there were like 1700 people waiting in line for tickets,” Leila Mims (‘28) said. “The tickets are really cheap, thankfully, for general admission, but there’s so many people trying to buy it—it’s kind of a war. I’m really excited to see my favorite singer live. It’s like a dream.”

“While becoming a fashion designer is something I really want to achieve, I’ve also really wanted to become an actor on Broadway,” Valentina Escobar (‘26) said. “I just really like the idea of singing, dancing, and acting all in one. It seems challenging but also exciting at the same time. Besides, I really like to sing as a hobby.”
