As the Environmental club prepares to provide a new event for students on campus, they aim to provide information on the heavy effects of fast fashion. Aside from trading clothing, there will be a selection of games and snacks for participants. “We were studying fast fashion, and the impact it has on the environment,” adviser Martha Horner said. “One of the things that we had discovered is that people aren’t keeping their clothes as long. People would wear something one or two times, or in a lot of cases, not wear them at all.”

Stringing up paper cranes in H building, senior Isabel Gomez spends her free time helping out HOSA. Even though the decorations are time consuming, she enjoys the process. “It took a long time to hang all of the cranes.” Gomez said. “We had to ask the whole dental class to help us. I really liked stringing them up, it was kind of therapeutic in a way.”

Whenever state testing rolls around, you can faintly hear the internal screams of millions of students across the country. Why is it that the fate of their future rests on them at such a young age?
Dunking the ball into the net, sophomore Xavion Staton scores yet another point for the Sierra Vista varsity boys basketball team. Staton enjoys being able to create memories with his new team. “My teammates have a lot of fun because they get to experience throwing stuff up and having me immediately dunk it,” Staton said. “It brings a lot of energy to the court.”
