K-Pop Club, E132, every Thursday
K-Pop members are working on a dance number for an upcoming event to be announced soon.
“Our next performance is going to be in a very different setting from our usual performance,” K-Pop member Sean Tran said. “Usually our practices aren’t that super intense, but we’re going to be performing in front of other professional dance groups, so we’ll be more focused.”
After their upcoming event, K-Pop members will be focusing on their Coyote Olympics performance.
“I’m both nervous and eager as I get to experience something new while also performing in front of other Las Vegas dance crews,” Tran said. “We’re practicing really hard and trying to push past our limits so that we can leave a good impression on everybody.”
HOSA, E-126, every Tuesday
Preparing for their annual Valentine’s Day event, HOSA members are creating roses for the student body.
“Nothing’s changing from the past years we’ve been doing roses, but as always, HOSA members volunteer to sell during both lunches and help arrange roses until Feb. 14, which I find is a fun thing to do with fellow friends and members,” HOSA member Mariel Batara said.
This event is for students to purchase roses for friends, family or their significant other, which will then be delivered on Valentine’s Day to their valentine. Single roses will be sold for $1 each and $6 for a “bunch” which includes six roses.
“I’m super excited because doing wooden roses is always one of my favorite events HOSA does,” Batara said. “It’s always nice to give [someone] something on Valentine’s Day.”
FIDM Fashion Club, E106, 1st and 3rd Thursday
Expressing their individual styles and creativity, Fashion Club members are finishing up group mood boards and presenting them.
“I’m very [thrilled] to see what the groups have come up with while working together and what inspired their ideas,” Fashion Club President Presiosa Prieto said. “My group decided to base our mood off of fruit, so it’s very colorful and poppy with a touch of modernism.”
Specific members will also be attending Magic, an annual fashion convention where brands and companies come together to franchise their products.
“Although I’ve only attended once, it’s very interesting to experience and being able to see how the retail market works in the fashion industry,” Prieto said.
