“I’ve been picking up art again as a hobby. I love it in all of its medias! Music, literature, paintings, films— I think it’s the most beautiful way to express and interpret things,” Quynh Nhu Nguyen (‘26) said. “I don’t have a routine anymore, but seeing art as a way to wind down and communicate has helped me a lot.”

“I like to read comic books,” Santino John Acero (‘26) said. “As a kid, I watched all the Marvel movies and I wanted to expand my knowledge on the Marvel Universe.”

“My favorite extracurricular that I’m currently doing is probably volunteering,” Kaitlyn Graves (‘26) said. “I volunteer at the library every week, and we always do something different. Right now, we’re working on a display for the teen area that’s going to be put up around summertime, and it’s based on a certain country [with] a bunch of fun facts and everything so people can learn about different places.”

“My favorite exotic animal is a capybara because they’re the type of animals to get along with anything or anyone else and [they are] very social which is what I like about them,” Natalia Svikruhova (‘27) said. “Even though I would love to have one as a pet, they seem to be high maintenance.”

“My favorite sport would have to be football,” Jayden Kroman (‘25) said. “I watch it all the time with my family and it’s the most exciting sport in my opinion. My favorite team is the New York Giants.”

“The most recent show I’ve binged watched was Chunibyo,” Ronaldo Dela Cruz (‘27) said. “It’s a really cute show and the fight scenes are really well done.”

“Hockey is the best sport in the world with how fast and exciting it is,” Carter Sims (‘27) said. “There is never a dull moment in a game.”

“A memory from my childhood that still sticks with me today is when I first touched a basketball,” Noha Tiku (‘28) said. “This is because when I touched a basketball, I fell in love with the sport. Still to this day I play. I play for leagues, AAU, tournaments, for fun, and etc.”

“The worst meal I’ve ever eaten was adobo, specifically chicken adobo,” Michael Lazaro (‘25) said. “For some reason, I just don’t really like the texture and the taste of it. Ever since my childhood, I didn’t really like the dish and as I grew up I disliked it more, so I just can’t eat it anymore. I prefer Filipino desserts instead, specifically taho.”

“A skill I’d love to learn is singing. I love music and it very well is something that is essential in my life,” Ervien Panem (‘25) said. “Every time I listen to music, I always start singing, but when I start singing I sound like a dying horse. So I’d like to be able to one day be able to sing one of my favorite songs and actually sound listenable.”

“First, I address everything I need to do and what I’ve finished and after I do something I call an ‘anti-burnout,’” Alex Abram (‘27) said. “I either lay down to rest, play video games, or hangout with friends. It takes my mind off of reality and it helps me ignore schoolwork, and all the social interactions.”

“My favorite two bands are ‘Fall Out Boy’ and ‘Bring Me the Horizon,’” Benson Wood (‘28) said. “Fall Out is my favorite because they have a lot of punk and alternative music and they’ve been a big part of my life. Bring Me the Horizon has good punk and alternative, however the different varieties of metal and they’re the most involved band that I listen to.”

“After high school, I’m planning on going to my dream college of Stanford, where I’m going to major in political science,” Jayden Warren (‘28) said. “I want to try to go into public service, be in government, and try to make some changes within the country.”

“My favorite movie is the live action Cinderella from 2015,” Sophie Valdez (‘26) said. “I just love all of the costumes and the scenery. Overall, the movie was really fun to watch.”

“Dead Poets Society is the best movie in the world,” Allee Lin (‘25) said. “It’s so deep. They don’t make films like that anymore. The cinematography is fantastic, as well as the color grading and the script. I could watch it for hours. The entire plot is fantastic, it’s about someone who just wants to be seen. Close second is 21 Jump Street.”
