Demonstrating in front of the whole class, PE coach Michelle Schmitt shows her students where to properly strike the volleyball. Many of the students didn’t have prior volleyball experience, so the coach thought this display was necessary. “Proper serving form is very important,” Schmitt said. “Some of the girls have trouble getting the ball over the net, so this gives them the best chance at doing that.”

By increasing the string length, the tension is increased as well as the risk of the cup’s water falling out. “We have all these components and it’s really important [to get them right] because it can risk people lives,” Estrellas said. “They can risk your own life.
