I enjoy going ice skating and snowboarding during the winter time. Honestly, I really good at ice skating and can go faster the most. I always have the most fun but my feet hurt at the end. Snowboarding on the other hand is so difficult. It’s only fun when you get used to it. When I first when snowboarding, I went on that lift thingy, and girl I got stuck and the person had top like fetch me and stop the whole thing. When actually snowboarding I fell multiple times and ate the snow. Once I got the hang of it, it was so fun and exciting.

My name is Gracie Johnson, and my favorite holiday tradition is something my family and I have made up. Every year, we plan a list down to the minute filled with crafts, watching movies, baking, cooking, reading stories, etc. More specifically my sisters and I spend all day on Christmas Eve following the list we made to fill the day before Christmas with excitement so we’re not just waiting for Christmas to come all day.

My favorite winter festivity has to be the winter solstice celebration. I love it because it’s a beautiful way to honor the return of longer days and the sun’s warmth. Gathering with friends and family around a fire, sharing stories, and enjoying seasonal treats creates an amazing sense of community and togetherness. Plus, the traditions surrounding this celebration, like lighting candles or decorating with evergreens, help to embrace the season’s spirit and reflect on nature’s cycles. It’s a perfect blend of joy, reflection, and anticipation for what’s to come! I also love opening gifts with my family as we laugh and eat my grandmother’s famous biscuits and gravy.

I things I love most is opening Pajamas Christmas Eve Night with my brothers and opening Presents with my family Christmas Day. Another thing I love is having two weeks off from school and use my presents and do my usual things I do every day. Relax and enjoy myself while I do Arts and Crafts and watch YouTube or Play Video Games.

I like leaving cookies and milk out for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer!! Santa is my favorite person and his reindeer are my favorite animals. Wait what do you mean Santa’s not real? Santa? Santa?

One of my favorite winter festivities is Christmas, primarily because it embodies a unique blend of joy, warmth, and togetherness that resonates deeply with me. The entire season feels magical, with twinkling lights illuminating the chilly nights, and the scent of pine and baked goods fills the air, creating an inviting atmosphere. I cherish the time spent with family and friends, as we gather around the table to share traditional meals that evoke fond memories of our shared past. The act of giving is another highlight; choosing thoughtful gifts for loved ones and seeing their faces light up on Christmas morning is incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, the holiday spirit inspires acts of kindness and charity, reminding us of the importance of community and compassion. Engaging in festive traditions like decorating the tree, singing carols, and baking cookies brings a sense of nostalgia and joy that enriches the season even further. There’s a special sense of peace that blankets the world during this time, encouraging reflection and gratitude for the blessings in our lives. Ultimately, Christmas is more than just a celebration; it’s a heartfelt reminder of the connections we share, the love that surrounds us, and the hope we carry for the future, making it my favorite winter festivity.

My family wasn’t into Christmas that much when I was young, but as I have gotten older we have started trying to surround ourselves with the Christmas spirit as much as we can. Starting the Monday after Thanksgiving, all we listen to is Christmas music, especially “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” in the house and in the car. Then, we start having Home Alone playing on the television in the background, while we are doing our homework or cooking or anything like that. It helps remind us that “Yes, it’s Christmas time!!!” and we just kind of live in that perpetual Christmas joy 24/7. We also start playing in the driveway a lot, basketball or soccer or whatever, since it’s not hot anymore and it gets really quiet in our neighborhood so we like to make a lil noise lol.
