Winter semi-formal ticket sales top last year’s sales by 83 Only 59 tickets are available for purchase

Compared to the Sadie Hawkins dance hosted by Student Council on Feb. 6, 2015, 83 more tickets have been sold for the first Winter Semi-formal. Currently, 241 out of 300 tickets have been sold for the “Great Gatsby” themed event taking place this Saturday.

“When we checked the reports this morning, we were at 180 sold tickets. Now, after selling throughout both lunches, the number has risen to 241,” Student Council adviser Mrs. Miriya Julian said.

Due to the decrease in ticket sales for Sadie Hawkins within recent years, Student Council catered to the student body by replacing the tradition with the Winter Semi-formal.

“Our numbers have been slowly going down for Sadie’s so I’m happy that our numbers have increased compared to last year,” Student Body Secretary Lexi Delliponti said. “I think what got the ticket sales going is the fact that it’s something new.”

Tickets can be purchased before or after school in room D105 with Mrs. Julian, during both lunches tomorrow for $30, and at the door for the full price of $40. The doors will open at 7 p.m.

“It’s going to be my first and last Winter Semi-formal so I can’t wait to make new memories with my best friends,” senior Kayla Dalope said. “Our whole group has everything planned for the night.”
