On Tuesday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 26, the 34th Annual College Fair Plus will be held at Cashman Center.
“The CCSD College Fair gives students the opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, vocational schools, and the military. Many colleges, universities, trade schools, as well as military groups will be there with valuable information,” says counselor Ms. Paige DeSantis.
At the fair, students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 200 colleges throughout the nation. These colleges will include Washington State University, University of Notre Dame, The Ohio State University, and The University Arizona.
“College fairs are very informative for students and their parents. It’s also nice being able to interact with someone who knows that college,” states junior Emerald Tran.
There will also be sessions students can attend that will provide information on how to pay for college and apply for scholarships.
“I think attending a college fair would definitely help students, as well as myself, learn more about different career opportunities, as well as prepare us for what we need to do in order to pursue our career,” comments sophomore Starley Payabyab.
In order to experience everything at the fair, there are three program stations that will help students in the college planning process. These stations will include post-secondary school representatives, special interest presentations, and a CCSD counseling center.
“I think every high school student should attend a college fair, so students can expand their knowledge about the colleges out there. I think a lot of people hear about colleges, but most of them don’t know what each college can bring to the table,” explains junior Crystal Gutierrez.
