To help clubs bond, Student Council is planning a Thanksgiving-style event on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. in the Ballroom. .
StuCo wants to stick with a tradition that they’ve done before, with plans to make it unique.
“This year, hopefully, the way that it looks is there’ll be Student Council, as well as two representatives from each club,” StuCo advisor Brandon Lafountain said. “It’s going to be a dinner with little activities that we do.”
The event is a way for clubs and students to connect and learn from one another.
“There’ll be little games [at the event] to get to know each other, because a lot of the time, we have no idea what’s going on,” Lafountain said. “It’s nice that this year, we are not only doing Coyote Congress, but we are implementing a get-together with them.”
Representatives may be replaced by people from the various clubs, depending on the circumstances.
“We’re trying to focus more on the president, vice president, and then club advisers,” PA Vice President Emilio Garcia said, “The president and vice president are really the biggest members of each club who have the most impact, but really, we’re totally accepting if a member wants to go and represent for that club.”
StuCo believes that this gathering will create opportunities for clubs to collaborate on future events.
“I think it will make them [the clubs] closer and also make us [Student Council] closer,” Student Council President Madison Davis said. “It will make a better energy with all of us, and we can be closer and help each other.”
StuCo is not only trying to make it a fun experience for the clubs, but they’re also trying to spread thanks to each other.
“One thing that we’ve done in the past that we’re going to do again is put papers on the tables with different things on them like ‘I am thankful for you’,” Davis said. “We just want everyone to know how thankful we are for them.”
