On March 4th, 2011, starting at 5:30 pm, Southwest Career and Technical Academy will be holding their first annual talent show. SWCTA’s Talent Club will be hosting and performing in the event.
The Talent Club held auditions on February 8th. The best acts were picked to perform in the show.
“The show is a great way to get the student body to show their talents in a creative way,” says Boivie.
There will be a total of 27 students performing. The show consists of a variety of acts, such as singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, and many more. Students are rehearsing daily.
“My friend and I will be doing a medley. I’m singing and she is playing the guitar. I really enjoy singing and the talent show is a fun way to showcase it,” says sophomore Gabrielle Silveroli.
The talent show is the first time the student body has had the chance to perform in front of a large audience.
Sophomore Reigine Yray says, “I’m really excited for the show. It will be nice to see the school’s hidden talents.”
Tickets can be purchased from any talent show participant, club member, or the Talent Club advisor, Ms. Krista Boivie. Tickets are $5 for ages 12 and up and $3 for ages 11 and under. The event is open to the public.
