Using limited resources, COM101 students competed in a marshmallow challenge

During the first week of school, students in COM101 participated in the marshmallow challenge. The first five minutes of the activity required students to stay silent. “We tried communicating with the good old paper and pencil and some hand gestures,” senior Vanessa Thou said. “We had two different pieces of paper, one to actually talk with, and another to design and share plans. It wasn’t that difficult to stay silent, but there was always an urge to whisper or talk to my partner.” Photo Credit: Ashley Harris
