Art Club will be hosting an acrylic paint project based on their favorite music artists.
“We will be teaching painting techniques using acrylic paint, including basic painting tips as well as color mixing,” President Tyrah Lamay said. “After these painting lessons, our members will be tasked to paint the cover of their favorite musical albums. This is also up for album recreation, meaning that they could copy an album exactly or tweak the cover to their liking, such as changing certain colors, objects, or people on the original album.”
A variety of art projects are also being planned in hopes of attracting new members.
“Some future projects that I hope to be able to bring to the club would be glass painting, crafts, beads or charms, tie dye, painting challenges, as well as more technical based lessons to help members improve their art skills,” Lamay said. “All students are encouraged to join, regardless of being at an advanced or beginner level.”

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Key Club will be participating in themed icebreaker games and service activities.
“Since it is Valentine’s Day, we will be doing a ‘speed dating’ game so people can meet other members,” President Ella Abilar said. “As for our service project during the meeting, we will be making heart ribbon wreaths and giving them to teachers.”
This will also be the first club meeting with the new board that was announced last week.
“As it’ll be the first general meeting of my term as president along with the other new board members, we wanted to kick off the term to a great start,” Abilar said. “I have a huge legacy to maintain as my predecessors have shown great success within the club, so I plan on being way more involved within our school’s community by hosting more fundraisers and service events that students can participate in.

The club is also planning to host their annual Game Fest event.
“It’s an event that’s gonna be hosted [in] early April,” Vera-Perez said. “I’m really excited for it because we’re planning on making the event even bigger than before.”
