Tiktok Life Hacks By: Hannah Paine

When scrolling on TikTok, we come across so many people showcasing their "life-changing" hacks. It's hard to see if a life hack will actually work based on a 15 second video. With that being said, here are three viral life hacks that have been tested to see if its worth your time or not.

Tortilla Wrap Hack

After blowing up in late 2020, this trend has over three billion views with the hashtag, TortillaTrend. You divide your tortilla into quarters, add your choice of ingredients and fold the slides over to get a perfect bite.

This hack was surprisingly easy and quick. It takes about the same time to make and is easier to fold over then when rolled. It evenly distributed toppings and didn't fall apart like most other wraps. I will be using this hack again to try out other topping combinations.

Garlic Clove Hack

By cutting a head of garlic in half and pressing down on each side, you can retrieve all of the cloves without a mess. Instead of peeling garlic and creating a pile of leaves, you can use this hack to easily separate each clove.

I didn't have much confidence in this hack working and I was definitely right. Even though I am a fairly strong person, I couldn't slam on the knife and garlic head hard enough to separate the cloves. I wasted a lot of time and garlic just so that my kitchen could smell like it for the rest of the day.

Wine Glass Cake Cutter

After one girl decided to cut her 21st birthday cake with a wine glass, TikTok quickly started following suit. Who needs a knife and plate, when you can cut the cake with a cup and eat out of it too? Whether on a picnic with your friends or at home with a cake from Smith's, this cutting technique is aesthetically pleasing and fun to try.

I absolutely loved trying this hack and was excited to see that it worked. It was fun to eat cake out of a wine glass, but I think that it works best with a small cake and a small group of people. It was difficult to clean all of the frosting and crumbs out of the glass, and at the beginning, I was scared that I was going to break the glass. However, I will still being using this hack in the future.
