Various campus projects by the facilities department are aiming to enhance safety and comfort.
Among the list is a plan to increase the school’s sidewalk area. Assistant Principal Cameron Roehm is actively searching for suitable spots to expand the walkable area.
“Students try to walk through the stones and we don’t want people to get injured in them, especially if it gets wet out,” Roehm said. “If we’re able to put down more sidewalks then we’re able to hopefully get more area for students to walk on so they can be safer.”
Sophomore Riley Baker believes adding more sidewalks will help students get to their classes on time.
“Usually when we’re walking to class, it’s very crowded and cramped, so now there’s going to be more room for all the people to walk,” Baker said.
Additionally, branding projects are being implemented in order to show more spirit. The pads on the gym floor are being redesigned and replaced.
“Over time, [old] pads get beaten up by PE and by sports that run out the facility,” Roehm said. “On the [new] pads there are going to be school logos and the school’s name. Those will be a pretty big statement piece in the gym for assemblies or awards night. “
