HOSA, every Tuesday, Cafeteria

To prepare for the upcoming holidays, HOSA is providing their members with volunteer events such as, the St. Jude Walk and Light The Night.

“Volunteering for HOSA is actually pretty fun,” HOSA member Ginella Santos said. “I get to learn more about why the events are held as well as spend time with my friends in the club.”

The next volunteer event that members will be attending to is the Rock & Roll Marathon on Nov. 17.

“I think it’s important to volunteer because we get help out the community,” Santos said. “Volunteering with HOSA has taught me a lot about different types of cancers and it has shown me the reasons why people want to help out others.”

FCCLA, 2nd and 4th Tuesday, D-116

FCCLA has begun to prepare for their upcoming STAR/PEP events. The events are used to have members demonstrate their knowledge and abilities on how to solve community issues.

“This year I am doing one on career investigation,” FCCLA member Nathan Robles said. “So I can see if my ‘dream job’ is really a dream or a phase. This year, for the competition, I am a little bit more prepared. Last year was my first year competing so I think this year will be a lot better.”

Each event in the STAR competition helps the members show off their leadership skills, whereas the PEP events are for the members to be creative.

”I’m excited for competition this year,” Robles said. “Last year I had so much fun with my friends and most of us are going this year so I’m excited for new memories.”

Kpop, 2nd and 4th Thursday, E-126 or D-100

To celebrate their Homecoming football game performance, Kpop club will be holding a potluck for all members on Thursday.

“I try to attend every potluck the club has,” Kpop member Sean Tran said. “Every potluck is an opportunity to bring the members closer and have somewhat of a team bonding.”

After the potluck, Kpop club will focus on learning their next dance for their performance at the Las Vegas Dance Marathon.

“I’m excited to be learning a new dance,” Tran said. “It’s one of my favorite Kpop songs and it has a fun choreography.”
