TSA, second and fourth Thursdays
Adviser: Monte Carman

The Technology Student Association (TSA) begins prep for state competitions taking place next February.
“We’re going to start asking members what competitions they are interested in competing in,” TSA President Makoa Apao said. “We will also be doing one-on-one interviews to make sure everyone knows what they’re doing.”
TSA will discuss the results of the Caring Closet Drive fundraiser. The organization collects needed items from community donations and gives them to people in need.
“Members who donated received volunteer hours for their efforts,” Apao said. “They had to gather toiletries, other essentials, and bring whatever they could find to the library to drop off for the cause.”
Amnesty International, second and fourth Wednesdays
Adviser: Kristina Haley
Room: C123
Amnesty International will discuss banned books and discuss service hour requirements.
“We’re going to talk about literary censorship in the U.S. and internationally,” Amnesty International President Gurnoor Gill. “We plan to do a ‘Jeopardy’ game themed around banned books to engage our members with the topic.”
The club will meet with a youth adviser representing Amnesty International and cover requirements to earn a chord at the end of the year.
“We want to be more active with the Amnesty youth group and strengthen our members’ understanding of what our goals are with this club,” Gill said. “The board will start by introducing what our club goals are, and then the advisor will lead the presentation from there.”
Crochet Club, second and fourth Thursdays
Adviser: Maritza De La Fuente
Room: C124
Crochet Club plans to focus on teaching members the basics of crocheting. Board members will walk around during the meeting and help ensure everyone can follow along with a digital guide.
“We’re going to go around and help everyone with basic things such as holding their hook, making a slipknot, chaining, etc,” Crochet Club President Kasandra Ramirez said. “We are also going to have challenging crochet patterns available for the intermediate/advanced crocheters to do if they find themselves completing the basic ones quickly.”
Additionally, Crochet Club will promote crochet-related volunteer opportunities that allow members to earn hours for other CTSOs.
“We don’t have a service hour requirement, but we want to help people use what we’re teaching to earn service hours for other clubs,” Ramirez said. “We are planning on giving volunteer hours to people who help us sell Crochet Club embroidered keychains during lunch.”
