Clubs are already beginning their weekly meetings at Southwest Career and Technical Academy. Current members are in the process of recruiting new members for their club.

“I’m looking forward to learning more about FCCLA, gaining more skills in the fashion merchandising area, and working with local charities as a club, like we did last year,” states Bethelhem Theodros, junior.

Club members and advisers are planning future events such as fundraisers, community projects, and student functions. Many clubs have new co-advisers entering their organizations, such as Alisa Sirat for DECA and Linda Burns for FCCLA.

“I’m not your normal advisor; I want students to belong to more than one student organization. You experience many more aspects of life in general and become a more well-rounded student,” says Alisa Sirat, new co-adviser for SWCTA’s DECA chapter.
