On Wednesday, Oct. 5, Southwest Career and Technical Academy’s National Honor Society (NHS) will be managing a PB&J-a-thon service-learning project as part of their community service responsibilities.
“This service project will allow [the members] to bond with each other while helping the community, and it proves that community service can be fun and rewarding,” says NHS President Steven Lam.
Members will spend the majority of the meeting creating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to donate to the Shade Tree Organization.
“I’ve never participated in a PB&J-a-thon before, so I’m pretty excited to make some for other people,” junior Randy Bae says.
The sandwiches will be delivered to the organization Wednesday evening.
