Students in Employability Skills work together to create and present an interview skit. To prepare them for their future, students learned to make a resume and move through the interview process. “This assignment is preparing me for the real world as it’s the basic structure in getting a job once I’m of age,” freshman Bianca Purio said. “It’s preparing me for what I will soon take on in the future, showing me what to expect and do.”

As her stress piles up from a tough homework assignment, Rollf decides it’s time for a brief break. Rollf got into position and cracked her neck to release built-up tension. “I crack my bones for stress relief, out of boredom, when I’m nervous, or just to fidget around with,” Rollf said. “It’s usually quiet in class, so when I get bored and start cracking my bones, my neighbor will look at me weird because of how loud it is. When I’m by myself, I can enjoy the sounds of it without receiving weird looks.”

The first Key Club meeting of the school year was a step forward to a hopeful year filled with in-person events. Students are encouraged to get out of their comfort zone and have fun, which is all left out in the virtual setting. “Just being able to have fun and vibe with all the key clubs in the region was enjoyable,” Key Club historian Alyana Arciaga said. “Unfortunately, that part is left out when held virtually, but hopefully we’ll have it in the future.” Photo Credit: Eavan Abao
