School operations closed for Winter Break

In observance of semester exams and Winter Break, the regular posting schedule and school operations will continue on Monday, Jan. 4.

Working on her laptop from her usual Google Meets spot, sophomore Heron Yonas works on a PSA project to raise awareness about the harmful effects of reusable plastic masks. For the project, members took pictures of masks they found around the neighborhood and compiled them together in a video. Environmental Club members take steps to change their lifestyles and raise awareness to help the environment during the pandemic.
Treating this movement as if it is just a trend is doing more harm than good for the cause. It makes what we are fighting for seem frivolous and unimportant. Don’t stop protesting, signing petitions, or posting educational content on your social media just because you don’t see BLM trending anymore, it was never a trend to begin with.

At a young age freshman, Narek Tonoyan was inspired by his teacher, Mr. Thomas,  to start coding. Through this creative inspiration, he discovered a new passion that he would be able to continue by attending SWCTA. “My coding teacher was a man named Mr. Thomas and he worked at my fifth grade elementary school, Lomie G.
