Art Club, Second and Fourth Thursdays

To encourage creativity, Art Club members will use unique artistic materials for their weekly club activity.
“We plan on creating felt creations, which basically consisted of using felt sheets and cutting shapes or whatever the members wanted to do, and using thread in a needle to put it together,” Art Club vice president Kayden Tizcareno said. “The point of this meeting is to help members express their creativity in a different medium that’s not very conventional. I think felt isn’t really something that you would normally use to create art, especially since you also have to have thread and needle to do it.”
Due to the club’s small size, it is always looking for new members to join.
“Students should join our club because we’re all a community here,” Tizcareno said. “We are all very accepting of each other, but we also encourage our members to be really artistic and creative and I think having them all together in a group after school relieves some stress.”

As Drama Club’s play Fast Food approaches closer to its debut, club members are continuing to practice to become as efficient as possible.
“Our actors are going to be rehearsing and they will be watching everyone and making sure they have all their lines down,” Drama Club President Dylan Grove said. “Techs are going to be working on our microphones and making sure everything runs smoothly.”
Tickets for the show are set to go on sale soon.
“Our next show will be April 1st and April 2nd in the ballroom,” Grove said. “Tickets are going to be $7, and they’re going on sale next Wednesday.”
Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), Second and Fourth Tuesdays

Room: Cafeteria
HOSA intends on having UNLV guest speakers at their upcoming meeting to talk about dental programs and college.
“Their expertise will help educate our members on what it is like to pursue the medical career in higher education and give them the knowledge on what they may expect in their college years,” HOSA President elect Aldrich Razon said. “We will [also] cover general housekeeping information regarding volunteer hours and future events.”
With the state conference approaching, HOSA club members are beginning the process of preparing for their competitions by attending SLC focused meetings.
“The SLC focused meetings consist of general knowledge regarding the conference and specialized meetings with each competitor to help them prepare for their competition,” Razon said. “This can include: presentations from our community awareness groups, practice sessions for our medical competitions and general studying.”
