Testing out colored pencils, sophomores Joy Ryan and Joy Park color in their illustrations. Members of Key Club were tasked with helping create decorations and donate candy for the school’s Trunk or Treat event for the opportunity to gain service hours. “I thought that my decorations turned out really cute and I felt proud knowing that they were going to use something I made during the event,” sophomore Joy Park said, “It was so much fun spending time with friends and coming up with scenarios about our drawings.”

Creative Writing Club, 4th Tuesday

Adviser: Corrina Terry

Room: C109

Creative Writing Club plans to work with sensory language and deepen their understanding of visual descriptions.

“We’re going to practice character study and visual language,” Celeste said. “We want to practice using words that paint a vivid picture in your head of a character.”

Filipino Club, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays

Adviser: Richard Mercado

Room: D101

The Filipino Club will be discussing the club fund and how to obtain honor cords.

“We are going to do something for the winter festival,” Filipino Club Historian Zia Escolar said. “We also have our club fund, which is due at the end of this month, so if any of the members who would like to get an honor cord for the end of the year will receive it. Members will have to pay $15 to receive full credit.”

Members may also look forward to a movie night where they will be watching “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

“We’re going to have food that people can pay for, but the movie is free,” Zia said.

Key Club, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays

Adviser: Michelle Kenwood and Rizalito Nicolas

Room: Cafeteria

Key Club will discuss the upcoming election and the positions that members may run for.

“When we come back, it will be election season,” Key Club President Aanja Abilar said, “So for anyone who’s interested in running for the different board positions, we will be going over the election process.”

Additionally, Key Club plans to raise money for an event where members can pie club officials in the face if they donate.

“Members can donate money to pie different board members in the face with a plate of whipped cream, and all the funds that we raise will be donated to the Pediatric Trauma Program,” Aanja said.
