The first Seniorsgiving event will be hosted by the Class of 2026 Student Council in an effort to bring the senior class together with games, food and prizes.
The event will be held on Nov. 21 from 2-4 p.m. in the Ballroom, with tickets being priced at $6.
“The games [that will be held are] Head, Shoulders, Knees, Pumpkin, Turkey Flock, and 2007/2008 Trivia. We have something for everyone. [The goal of these games are] for them to be related to seniors and Thanksgiving as well,” Suarez said. “After they get food, they’re going to have something where they can write what they’re thankful for and then we could hang it up somewhere.”
StuCo decided to introduce Seniorsgiving to give students a new experience before they graduate.
“We thought it would be fun because it’s our last year,” Senior Class Vice President Zoe Nunez said. “We want to have that sort of hype and connection between our class. We also thought that senior year is a time to have the most fun. This is when [StuCo has] the most funds to use as well, so we’re trying to go through them and make the most out of our senior year.”
StuCo has been advertising the event on social media and the school announcements.
“I don’t think there’s a lot of activities for seniors,” Suarez said. “There’s Senior Sunrise and Senior Sunset, but those are basic. They’re guaranteed, you know you’re going to have them. Adding more activities for participation and getting everyone more involved within the senior class is so important.”
In order to encourage participation, seniors who take part in games will have the chance to win prizes.
“We have a set of four games with opportunities to win up to 20 gift cards, if not more,” Nunez said. “[I am most excited for] one of the games called ‘Turkey Flock.’ We blow up balloons and you make a caterpillar worm, connecting back and forth. It’s a relay race. That one is fun.”
Seniors are urged to go to the event and participate in as many events for their last year of high school. As of right now, about 50 seniors have purchased a ticket to participate.
“I decided to attend Seniorsgiving this year because I saw that a lot of my friends were buying tickets and I don’t really want to have that experience of [missing out] and wishing I had gone,” senior Ryan Cruz said. “I’m looking forward to [making] fun memories with my friends because it’s our last year of high school. I want to have a lot of memorable experiences while I can.”
This is also an opportunity for seniors to make meaningful memories with the people that are important to them.
“I want to be able to go to as many events as I can and really connect with people in my grade. I’ll most likely never see them again after high school, so it’ll just be nice to gather with my peers,” senior Carmen Yap said. “With open [period]s, a lot of people are gone at different times, so I don’t get the chance to see a lot of my friends. I’m excited to see the people I don’t get to see as often to eat and play games together. It’ll be nice to see them and catch up.”

The event will have food, games, and prizes for seniors who decided to go. “I hope [students] have a fun time with their friends,” Suarez said. “[StuCo wants this to become a] memorable moment [where seniors] have a great time overall.”](https://southwestshadow.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/20251118_114203-1-1200x900.jpg)
