School board meeting agenda released and highlights future plans.
Students conduct the “fire bubbles” experiment which includes creating a reaction using fire and hydrogen peroxide. They worked together and used their critical thinking skills, along with following directions, to successfully complete the lab.  “I love labs,” Sager said. “I love reacting things because sometimes labs fail and then you have to troubleshoot.”

Chemistry sophomores participate in different lab stations

This is one of the first labs the students have completed since distance learning last year.
Working on designing posters, freshmen Brianna Scherschel and Isela Michael sketch out their ideas in pencil. Student Council has been working in committees to prepare for Homecoming on October 22 and 23. “I am really excited that we get to have [a homecoming] just in general,” Scherschel said. “The past year and a half, two years, we haven’t had anything, and this is our first big dance back. Adjusting to new obstacles, Student Council is having three homecoming dances, with 249 people each.

New ‘No-Late Work’ Policy Opens Academic Discussion

With quarter one coming to an end, the no-late work policy is causing students to complete their assignments later than the set due date.
Speaking to students, Dental Assisting teacher Kirsten Winfield talks about the rules of working in the lab. Students are finishing up any assignments that will be entered for the first quarter reading period in their English 10 Honors class. “The quarter went pretty well, and I just have a few more things I have to finish up,” sophomore Jianna Aganon said.

Students are adapting to the changes in-person schooling brought this quarter.
Viewing his lab, junior Andrei Belciug looks at an orbit consisting of Earth, the sun and moon. Students were assigned to edit the mass of the star or planet, view the orbit and record their findings. ¨If I didn’t do the lab, the test may have really negatively affected my grade,¨ Belciug said.

Students in Geoscience class are looking into the solar system to gain a better understanding about different orbits.

Students in Graphic Design I begin a typography project, learning how to apply fonts and texts to their designs.
Recognising the importance of the ACT prep book, juniors begin preparing themselves in class for their upcoming test. Teachers recommend students start studying now rather than later to make them less anxious and feel more prepared. “I feel really nervous for the ACT at the moment. I took the practice exam and now I realize how much studying the ACT is going to require,” junior Noah Cannon said.
