As Web Design teacher Denise Snow leaves Southwest CTA, former English 12 teacher Max Brewer takes her place in advising all web classes. Revenue shortfall hits CCSD budget

The Nevada's legislature to cut funding for schools has the potential to affect the school in a myriad of ways.
With a world of possibilities, students in Graphic Design III are given ultimate freedom to create their very own logos to use for when applying for jobs. Students have been adding onto their digital portfolios with their headshots just recently taken as well. “All the students are on Adobe Creative cloud so they have access to Illustrator and Photoshop to design their logos and any of their brand identity,” Olvina said. “I guess [the most difficult part for students] will be how they choose to represent themselves.”Photo Credit: Adobe Illustrator

In the midst of making his presentation, sophomore Louis Fernandez types jubilantly to fill his screen with powerful words that display his feelings toward “The Odyssey” with his group. Sophomores begin presentations on ‘The Odyssey’

Sophomores make presentations focusing on individual aspects of “The Odyssey” and the effects of the journey on Odysseus, while also testing their understanding of the poem.
While discussing agenda item 5.03, several board members were disconnected from the Google Meet. The meeting was delayed for forty minutes until a new one was streamed promptly. “Just like we had this evening, a challenge with the Google platform … I get these calls, emails, and text messages from teachers, parents, and students that this happens to them rather frequently,” CCSD District C Trustee Linda Young said. CCSD Board of Trustees confirm students will not return to school in October

Trustees discuss in-person education updates regarding technological issues, the youth COVID-19 infection rate, and other issues.
With the help of the National Honor Society’s tutoring system, students can easily ask for help online with any subject. Whether it be math or science, NHS members can assist students with academics to improve the online school experience. “With everyone learning from home, NHS wanted to make help from peers more accessible by bringing our annual tutoring service online,” junior NHS President-elect Kirsten Hofilena said. “Learning from a screen can present its challenges so we made sure to make navigating online an option for discussion with our tutors. National Honor Society Starts Virtual Tutoring Program

Getting help with academics virtually can be difficult, but NHS members will be providing tutoring sessions for anyone in need with any subjects.
Preparing for future careers, nursing students write pro/con essays on different ethical issues. Working to see different sides of the same story, Nursing III students write essays focusing on different ethical issues.
As Fashion ll student Kaydence Cabania works on her Croquis assignment, she practices some sketches that will help her for a future assignment.
