As students discuss their futures with parents and family members, they may feel pulled in two directions, trapped between what their parents want for them, and what they do. “I think that most students feel a bit of guilt for not going into the jobs that their families want,” sophomore Jade Miyano Ramirez said. “A lot of kids around my age are going into things that they don't enjoy so they can see their family happy although they themselves are struggling. A lot of students don't want to make their culture or parents upset due to their choices.”

To maximize muscle growth, Huynh prioritized high-intensity in his training. “Studies show and from personal experience that lifting with a higher intensity, nearly towards failure, with your lifts, will often provide greater results than just going through the motions of a workout,” Huynh said. “That's one thing that I preach greatly among people.”

Many teenagers are reluctant to receive professional support for mental health. There are various factors that play into teens not getting the help that they need. “[Teenagers] might feel that even though they're talking to someone, they still don't feel heard,” freshman Jaeda Gonzales said. “I've noticed that a lot of times when I try to talk to someone about my problems, it doesn't really click [with] them. [It’s] like they're making up their own story about my story in their head and they're just getting it all twisted.”
