Resurfacing on TikTok under the guise of beauty hacks, Looksmaxxing claims improve complexion and figure through brutal methods of beautifying. These range from using chewing gum to define the jawline, to forcefully reconstructing the facial structure with a hammer.
Celebrating their victory, FCCLA members group together to take a picture. All participating members received a gold or silver medal at their competition. “I’m very proud of everyone’s hard work,” adviser Jennifer Gonzales said. “Their projects aren’t ones that can be completed in a couple days. It took hard word and dedication, and the fact everyone earned a silver or gold medal is something to be very proud of.”

During last year’s Coyote Coachella, performer Aerhann Casupang sings “Freaking Out the Neighborhood” by Mac DeMarco for the crowd. The event allowed him to share his talent with the school community. “I was a little nervous to perform at first,” Casupang said. “After a little I was not really nervous because my friends came to support [me].”

Members enjoyed refreshments and utilized photo opportunities after the ceremony. “The induction ceremony made me feel proud of myself and it was nice to celebrate getting into the club with my friends,” Sicolo said. “I missed the first meeting because I was out of state for a field trip, so I’m excited to attend my first meeting as an inducted member.”

Carefully folding and checking the directions, junior Rediate Hunde makes origami for service hours during a general HOSA meeting. Clubs offer service opportunities during club meetings to help members get their hours. “The activity was pretty fun to do and I ended up making a butterfly,” Hunde said. “Out of all the activities they’ve offered for hours, I think this one was my favorite.”
